Hair Colour At Avant Garde
Expert Colour, Guided by Planning, Not a Menu
Hair colour shouldn’t feel confusing, rushed, or like you need to know the right terminology before you book.
At Avant Garde, colour is treated as a professional service, guided by consultation, experience and a clear plan. Whether you’re maintaining an existing shade or looking for something more bespoke, our role is to assess, advise and create results that suit you, your lifestyle and your long-term goals.

Two Approaches to Hair Colour
Not all colour services, or colour goals, fit neatly into a standard menu.
That’s why we offer two clear colour pathways, ensuring you’re booked into the right service, with the right time and expertise.
Traditional Colour Services
Traditional colour services are ideal if you are:
Maintaining an existing colour
Booking a regular regrowth or refresh
Clear on the service you usually have
These services include:
Regrowth tints
Full head colour
Classic highlights and lowlights
Toners and colour refresh appointments
These appointments follow a defined structure and can be booked online.

Bespoke Colour
(Consultation-Led | 1–2–1 | Charged by the Hour)
When a standard service menu doesn’t fit the result you’re looking for
Bespoke Colour is for clients who don’t fit neatly into traditional colour categories and don’t want to.
If terms like root melt, root tap, blending, melting or transformational balayage feel overwhelming or confusing, this service is designed for you.
You don’t need to know what to book.
You just need to know how you want your hair to look, feel and grow out.
From there, we create the plan.
A professional, planned approach to colour
Bespoke Colour is a fully personalised service, designed around your hair rather than a preset appointment type.
This service:
Is carried out 1–2–1
Is charged by the hour
Is performed by senior colourists trained to the same advanced standard
Allows time for assessment, precision and refinement
It may involve advanced blonding, blending, grey blending, colour melting, phased transformations or corrective elements, but the technique is never the starting point.
Assessment and planning come first.

Why consultation comes first
Every Bespoke Colour journey begins with a consultation, either face-to-face or via our online consultation form.
This allows us to:
Assess your hair’s condition and colour history
Understand your goals and maintenance preferences
Discuss what is achievable safely and realistically
Create a bespoke colour plan with the correct time allocation
Because this service is tailored entirely to the individual, Bespoke Colour appointments cannot be booked online.
Consultations are complimentary.
Condition is never compromised
We will always prioritise the health and integrity of your hair.
That means:
We will not promise results that cannot be achieved safely
Strand testing may be required
Patch testing is required at least 48 hours prior (or longer where appropriate)
Some colour plans may be phased to protect the condition and ensure the best long-term outcome
This considered approach is how consistent, wearable colour is achieved and why our clients trust the process.

What if your colour hasn’t gone to plan?
If you’re dealing with uneven colour, unwanted tones, previous DIY colour or complex colour history, your appointment may fall under Colour Correction.
Colour Correction is an advanced, technical application of Bespoke Colour and always begins with consultation and planning.
